Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens' musical Ragtime weaves together the stories of an upper-class white family, a Black musician from Harlem, and a Jewish immigrant family navigating turn-of-the-century America. The sweeping score and interconnected narratives explore themes of justice, freedom, and the American Dream as industrial progress collides with racial and class divides.
