Ragtime, the musical by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens, weaves together the stories of an upper-class white family, a Black musician from Harlem, and a Jewish immigrant family in turn-of-the-20th-century America. The sweeping score explores themes of industrial progress, racial and class divides, and the struggle for justice and equality during a transformative moment in American history.
