Saturday at the Beaches: Beaches Green Market

Beaches Green Market meets in Penman Park, 321 Penman Road in Jacksonville Beach, on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It focuses on local food: seasonal produce, meat, eggs, honey, coffee and baked goods. Entry is free, and a free yoga class runs beside it before the market opens, so bring a mat if you want to join. The organizer says the best selection goes early.Source: City of Jacksonville Beach calendar and the organizer's market page.

Sunday at the Beaches: Atlantic Beach Farmers Market

The same organizer runs a Sunday market from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jack Russell Park on Seminole Road in Atlantic Beach, next to City Hall. If Saturday is busy, it is the easiest way to do your produce shopping at the Beaches on a Sunday.Source: organizer's market page and City of Atlantic Beach calendar.

Twice a month in Clay County: Orange Park Farmers' & Arts Market

This market fills Town Hall Park, 2042 Park Avenue in Orange Park, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on set Sundays, usually the first and third of the month, with a break over the summer. It mixes food vendors with local artists and makers. The market accepts SNAP/EBT: you buy $1 tokens at the information booth near the stage, and tokens don't give change. It also takes part in Fresh Access Bucks, which matches SNAP spending on Florida-grown produce.Source: Town of Orange Park market dates and the market's SNAP/EBT page.

A family morning in Nocatee: Nocatee Farmers Market

Nocatee holds a themed, public farmers market at Nocatee Station Field, 400 Nocatee Center Way in Ponte Vedra, on a Saturday morning about once a month. Alongside local honey, jams, baked goods and produce, there is usually live music and something for kids. It runs weather permitting, and the community posts updates on short notice, so check the Nocatee events page on the day.Source: Nocatee market listing.

Any day of the week: Jacksonville Farmers Market

The Jacksonville Farmers Market at 1810 West Beaver Street, about a mile west of Downtown, is an open-air produce market with vendor stalls rather than a weekend pop-up. It is listed as open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is the place to look for imported and hard-to-find produce. The market's website is not kept current, so call ahead before a holiday trip.Source: Jacksonville Farmers Market website.

For art more than produce

Riverside Arts Market under the Fuller Warren Bridge is a Saturday mix of artists, makers and food; our free events guide covers it. At the oceanfront, the Jax Beach Arts Market sets up at the Seawalk Pavilion on selected Saturdays; see the Beaches guide.

What to bring

Bring your own bags and some cash, since payment options vary by vendor. Outdoor markets can close or shorten hours for storms, so check the organizer's page before you leave. Our market listings link to each organizer for the latest dates.
