Theatre Jacksonville stages Come From Away, the Tony Award–winning musical about the true story of how the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, welcomed thousands of stranded travelers when 38 planes were diverted there on September 11, 2001. With book, music, and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, the show celebrates how the community overcame cultural and language differences to support the passengers with music, hospitality, and human connection.
