Theatre Jacksonville stages Beth Henley's Pulitzer Prize-winning comedy about three Mississippi sisters—one unmarried and aging out of prospects, one returned from a failed singing career on the West Coast, and one out on bail for shooting her husband—who gather at their grandfather's deathbed. Their grave troubles become hilarious as their meddling cousin and Babe's smitten young lawyer add to the chaos. The New York Times calls it a play that "overflows with infectious high spirits."
