YAMATO, a Japanese taiko drumming ensemble from Nara Prefecture, performs with over 40 massive drums including their signature Odaiko—a two-meter drum carved from a 400-year-old tree that weighs 500 kilograms. Since 1993, the group has toured 54 countries with their powerful, energetic performances that combine traditional Japanese percussion with contemporary stagecraft. The acoustics and physical intensity of their drumming create an immersive experience that transcends typical concert performances.
